Didi El-Behaedi, NELC Egyptian Archaeology PhD candidate, along with an international team, was awarded a prestigious Explorers Club Discovery Grant, via a partnership between The Explorers Club and Warner Bros. Discovery!
The team will be heading to Egypt in December to investigate previously unknown former Nile River branches near the ancient Meidum Pyramid Complex (more than 4,000 years old). Through this research, they hope to explain the prevailing environment and possible causes of the pyramid’s partial collapse and abandonment in antiquity.
